Outlook: Bryan came in and totally dominated District 13-5A last season with authority. No team could match up with team all the way up until playoff season began. The Vikings offense was came into Round Rock Dragon Stadium last season three times and won all three times against McNeil, Round Rock, and Westwood. The Vikings defense heckled offenses of the playoff teams in that district (Westwood W 48-7, Georgetown 52-21). However, their weakness was they rest players against undermatched teams. It almost cost them everything. They escape McNeil, Pflugerville, and Round Rock. Above all, they ran away with the Bowie Bulldogs in the first round of the playoffs. If Bryan is to repeat it's dominating performance, it must replace most of the 63 seniors that left. The two main offense stars QB Devin Adkins and Deroy Turner have graduated, leaving the job up for JV QB Andrew Baldwin and LB Chris Densey. FB Rene Salazar figures to start because of experience but look for Will Bullock to battle for the spot too. The defense lost big man Ty Warren and hopes two way player Alton Burton can fill in. Helping Burton on defense is 4.5 runner DB Nathan Smith and DB Fred Gurode, who caught Bowie's Jason McPhaul deflected pass to setup the game winner last season. This year's key district game will be the one in Georgetown. This is a fairly new Bryan team and must reload their team if they want to repeat it's 52-21 trashing of the Eagles.
Strength: The defense keen sense and their ability to read the plays at the scrimmage. The Vikings has a forceful defense that they must keep consistent, week after week. They also have a large number of players rested on the bench, if needed can play.
Weakness: The unxperienced players and their cockyness. Bryan must play every team with the full respect. They can't come in and expect a walk over in every game. This season a lot weaker but strong enought to make the playoffs, must make it's run against the Eagles if they want a third district title under Marty Criswell.
