Returning Starters: (7) RB Buzzy Earl, WR Wayne Hirt, QB Chris Love, OL Jeff Watts, DB Greg Buhl, RB Nic Noel, WR Jon Peoples
Outlook: Every year Round Rock gets high praise from critics and every year they fail to live up to it. The Dragons haven't made the playoffs since 1994 and this year return 1 starter on the defense. DB Greg Buhl is very slow and can't cover. The Dragons defense last season gave up a mere 90 yards passing. DB Stephen Johnson will be a key addition to help re-build the defense that lost 10 starters. The defense kept the Dragons in all their games. After starting district 2-0, the Dragons fell 3 in a row and missed the playoffs. They lost to Georgetown 21-9, Bryan 12-9, and the heartbreaker to Westwood 34-29. The offense was was suppose to lead the Dragons into the playoffs behind speedy RB Walter "Buzzy" Earl . Earl failed to gain over 1,000 yards for the second season in a row after opening every season tearing up Bowie. The Dragons offense managed 144.2 rushing a game. RBs Nic Noel and Jon Peoples are back ups to Earl . However, the three tailbacks have problems holding onto the ball. QB Chris Love will take over the helm at quarterback and will need big help from WR Wayne Hirt and Peoples to fill in the void left by all district TE Nic Getter. The line is expected to do well this season with junior Travis Colvin and Jeff Watts, who is solid on both sides of the ball.

Strength: Speed. They have lots of speed and must know how to use it. Earl, Noel, and Hirt all can break and Love must get it to them.
Weakness: The defense. Graduation wasn't friendly to Round Rock. 37 seniors said good-bye to Dragon football. Last year, they contain run and control the passing game. The offense needs Earl to live up to their expectations and cross the 1,000 yard mark.
