QB Alvin Cowan (6’2” 195) has betting getting high praise in comparison to former Westlake stars Jay Rodgers, Dree Brees, and last year’s star Adam Hall. Brett Robin has left the running game to Scott Ballew after three seasons at tailback. Taylor Jobe and Clifton Collier have left and now expect Cowan to throw to Earl Campbell’s son, Christian, and Drew Brees’ younger brother, Ried Brees. Last week against Humble, the Chaps offense racked up 359 yards and the defense held them to 278. Cowan was 18/24 for 312, including three touchdown passes, two of them to Brees.

Last season, Duff gained over 2,000 yards, scored 26 TDs, threw for 3, including the first play from scrimmage last season against Westwood. The Dawgs are serious contenders for the state title,as the bring more depth, size, and speed. The only question is can QBs B.J. Look for Cedar Park to avenge last season's 35-0 blowout. They look to run behind RB Quinton Smith who can explode. QB Michael Swoda heads the team again. The Lions also bring back several familiar faces on defense with LB Odell Grant, Jonathan Hatfield, Josh Wharton, and John Herrin.
